For my social commentary I am doing a flash animation giphy on how children now-a-days are too focused on technology and video games. The boy will be watching a TV where he will be a controller plugged into the TV himself, just like how kids are "plugged" into the games they play. Two artistic behaviors that I applied are create original art and sole problems. How I solved a problem was that I had to find a way to convert my file into a form that allowed me to animate properly and upload it.

I plan to do a 2D animation of jazz players playing their instruments and their music notes turning into butterflies This is the finished piece of my mixed media. The mediums I used were pastels on the hair and the background, watercolor for the sky, acrylic for the moon, hair, and skin, and a collage of digital strips on the bottom half of the moon. I was originally going to add digital "touch-ups" as my forth medium but it didn't work out how I wanted it to be. Two Artistic behaviors would be experimenting with different mediums and risk taking. I took the risk of trying to combine digital media onto my painting, which didn't turn out how I had sketched my idea. As for the experimentation, It was my first time using both pastel and acrylic paint which was fun but difficult trying to match tones and highlighting.
I plan to do a digital illustration with the theme of inequality and poverty in America. The portrait will be of a poor neighborhood with a kids playing, a protest for poverty, and a corrupt politician. I choose this theme because people tend to overlook poorer parts of towns and cities where people struggle. Two artistic behaviors would be risk taking and problem solving. I took the risk of trying a program I've never used before (Adobe Photoshop) and had to solve problems of figuring out how to work it and the features it included. |
